Kittens 'n Things

Today, I went to the pet store to get some much needed cat food. I mean, we were down to 2 cans…both in the same flavor…and boy was I getting dirty looks!

I got to the store a little later than I usually do (it was about 10:30 a.m.), and the store was setting up a “pen-type” enclosure so the kitties could get out of their cages and run around a bit.

What fun!

One of the kitties was rolling around on the floor, like she was scratching her back. Snowflake used to do that in the dirt! And when she came in she was no longer white! (Occasionally…and I do mean occasionally…we would let her outside on the driveway…under the strictest of supervision!…and that’s when she got dirty.)

After watching the weather news for the East Coast this morning, “The Boys” concluded that they’re really glad they live in the Midwest and have central air!

Which means they don’t have to hang around a fan like this big guy…

Although the temps aren’t expected to be too high this week, the humidity will “drag them out!” In fact, whether “The Boys” get to play on the porch this week is iffy!

And, of course, we do want to make sure they keep drinking their water!

Fireworks! Potato salad! And steaks grillin’…or hot dogs! Parades! Lemonade. Picnics! Traffic! These are a few of my favorite things!

And kitties, don’t forget the kitties!

No photos today of kitties watching the fireworks or of riding in the parade!

Just a big ole hat with 4th of July colors!

Nevertheless, the wish is the same…Happy 4th of July!…to those who celebrate.

Well, we’re good for another year!

Mikey’s birthday has come and gone! But he wanted me to again thank all of you who stopped by to wish him a Happy Birthday! Yesterday, and even today yet!

He thinks it’s really special to get to continue celebrating after your birthday.

The birthday cake was yummy, although I forgot to get candles to put on it. And still no photos…I think Mikey is getting a little miffed at me because I didn’t find the camera.

Maybe I’ll find it in time for Billy’s birthday, which is October!

We’re eating cake…and boy is it good! Mikey will get a little “bit of the cream” frosting, since it’s his special day.

“The Boys” are sure glad, though, that I couldn’t figure out how to put the “hats” on their heads, otherwise they’d all be pictured here with hats on like this…

Mikey wanted me to be sure to tell you all “thank you” for stopping by to wish him a Happy Birthday.

He also said to tell you he thinks you’re awesome…and that as soon as I can figure out how to take “new pictures”…he’s really tired of the same old ones all the time…we’ll post them!
