Grumpy Cat and Friends

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2014

grumpy-cat-summerWe recently received an email from Lindsay Balsamo, Intern Rep for Taylor Strategy, on behalf of The Friskies. as they are having several fun things going on this summer that involve Grumpy Cat & Friends: Nala Cat; Hamilton the Hipster Cat; and Oskar the Blind Cat.

This time, the gang are “debuting” their sophomore video single: “Cat Summer”!

And Mikey, Billy and I are helping get the word out about these Cat Sensations.

Lindsay writes, “The latest collaboration pays tribute to the group’s late pal, Colonel Meow, who passed away earlier this year.”

Further, as was done last year, this video has a “charity component” so that each time the video is viewed “one meal of Friskies Grillers (yum, yum – NEW) will be donated to cat charities nationwide on behalf of Colonel Meow, for up to 1,000,000 meals!” That’s a lot of noms to help feed the kitties.

The video is up now at YouTube. You can also get in on additional online hullabaloo when you use hashtag #CatSummer. These kitties really rock out!

Lil Bub

Tuesday, September 10th, 2013

Lil-Bub Last week while I was watching “Fox and Friends” on Fox News, the hosts were talking about this cute little kitty, Lil BUB that had taken the Internet by storm.

They then announced she was “in the studio” and said they’d talk about and with her shortly.

What a sweetie!

Her owner has written a book about her. And there is a blog and a Youtube site with videos

At two years old, Lil Bub is tiny, has no teeth–and six toes. Her tongue hangs out; actually, it does not quite fit in her mouth so her mouth seems open all the time. She was very inquisitive on the TV set, as she ventured off her owner’s lap and onto the couch her owner was sitting on.

Lil BUB was originally a “stray”, and now she’s become a star!

P.S. While the computer is nice and warm for a kitty’s tootsies, this can also be a comfy winter attraction for kitty tummies and feets!

Food Watchers and Taste Testers

Thursday, August 18th, 2011

This only works if you have at least two kitties.funny pictures of cats with captions

Recently, I’ve been paying more attention to the way “The Boys” come to the table (figuratively) to eat.

For instance, each of “The Boys” gets his own plate of food. So when I put down their food, I try to put “The Boys” in separate areas of the kitchen.

Sometimes, I’ll even put one of the plates of food in the dining room. This way, they all have plenty of room to eat.

What I’ve noticed, though, is that as they begin to eat if one of them starts to eat, and then decides he doesn’t like what he is given, he will leave.

Then so will another one. And finally, they all may leave; without the other two having even tasted the food!

Mikey and Billy are notorious for this!

On the other hand, they will also “taste test” and trade plates, too…go from plate to plate to see whether the others are getting something he isn’t.

It used to be that Jonny would come along and clean up what the others left; but anymore, I can’t count on him so much for that!

P.S. Any “food watchers” and “taste testers” at your house?

Where is everybody?

Sunday, July 10th, 2011

It’s Sunday afternoon.

The sun’s out, it’s not very humid after the soft, summer rain this morning.

The door’s open so “The Boys” can go out on the front porch to soak up some sun puddles.

Or to watch bird and squirrel TV.

Better yet, the neighbor’s have a D-O-G in their window “The Boys” could give the once over.

And where are they?

Billy’s on my lap!

Jonny is snoozing beside me, on the foot-feet of the couch I’m sitting on.

And Mikey is also beside me on the couch! Umm, he might be pouting, though.

P.S. How are you and your kitty spending this afternoon?

“Big Kitty” Rumble

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

Mikey and Billy!

If you have more than one cat, I imagine you know what I mean when I say we often have “issues” with Mikey and Billy.

Actually, I think Mikey is more the instigator than Billy.

Today, it’s all about who gets to sit on my lap!

Now, Billy slept in this morning so Mikey had several hours to park all he wanted on my lap.

But did he? No way!

He slept beside me, until he got the notion he needed a mid-morning snack.

By that time, Billy was up, had eaten and was ready for some serious lap sittin’ of his own!

But then Mikey decided he needed the lap spot.

Which means we are now in a ?big kitty” lap rumble!

Oops, make that “were”.

Billy moved on (or was told in secret code to move), so Mikey is now standing on my lap, watching the cursor as I write this.

Yours in being the referee,

and “The Boys”

P.S. What kinds of rumbles does your kitty get in to?

Putting on Quite a Show

Sunday, May 22nd, 2011

Those four little kitties under the next-door neighbor’s deck I told you about last week have been putting on quite a show for us!

Saturday, a couple of them would venture out, and play a little tag. Another one would climb halfway up the neighbor’s wood flower trellis–and then couldn’t get down!

We debated whether we ought to go help him, when he “crashed” (or slid) to the deck all by himself.

Actually, he didn’t exactly crash…as it wasn’t too long after that that we saw him climbing back up that trellis.

Friday night, when they were out playing, we decided we’d go outside and watch them “from afar”.

It didn’t take long for them to quickly scoot under the desk; they must have heard us coming.

We also discovered there are five little ones instead of the four we originally thought. The fifth has the coloring of their mother–and like one of the other siblings–which is a sort of brownish/black with some white and gold flecks. A bit like a calico.

Yours in watching them grow,

and “The Boys”

P.S. If you received Saturday’s issue of Mews Nooz, and noticed that no photos/graphics were showing up, I apologize. It’s because my main site web host is performing emergency maintenance on its servers. Unfortunately, this means my email for that site is down, as well as the area in my Site Manager control panel where I upload all my files for my site, my ezine, etc.

It’s been down (that I know of) since at least 6:30 Saturday morning–(it’s now Sunday morning). And it’s driving me nuts!

There’s No Room For Me

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

Ever have one of those nights when you go to get into bed and there is no room for you?

As in, for me, Mikey had already dug his “little hole” in the blankets at the foot of the bed.

Billy was planted in the middle of the bed, taking a bath, and Bowie was taking up space sprawled on the pillow!

Which is usually Billy’s!

And Jonny was on the window seat right beside the bed, eye-ing me trying to figure out how I was going to get into bed!

Without moving all that fur.

Or maybe he was wondering who he could move out so he could pile onto the bed, too?

Yours in taking back your bed,
and “The Boys”

P.S. Of course, I am the human and I know I am in control and can set the rules as to who sleeps where.

P.P.S. What kind of night-time takeover happens with your kitty?

Photo: The photo is Jonny, in a “sprawled moment” on the bed, before the others came along in the “great take over”!

They’re working on a rumble!

Saturday, April 23rd, 2011

Mikey and Billy are having a “bit of a discussion” as to which one is going to get major lap time…mine!

The whole thing started when Mikey came and sat on my lap…as I’m typing this post.

Immediately, Billy came from nowhere, and slowly slinked his way to the couch beside me.

And then he started that nudging that he does so well, trying to get Mikey to move from my lap. But Mikey would have none of that nonsense, and plopped his little rear a little harder on my lap.

Next, Billy gave me that soulful look…I think he wanted me to move Mikey for him.

Sorry, Billy. Mikey was here first!

Not to be detoured, though, Billy kept inching his way to my lap and eventually overtook Mikey. Who then became tired of watching the mouse on the screen, so he jumped down and ran off to who knows where.

While Billy settled down on my lap to take his bath.

Yours in sorting out the ruckus,

and “The Boys”

P.S. What does your kitty do to get your attention?

P.P.S. Today’s issue of “Mews Nooz” went live this morning at 5 a.m. Central Daylight Time. If you’re a subscriber and did not get your issue, please let me know.
